Not every project starts from scratch. Sometimes a van just needs the right additions to become everything it should be.

Whether you have a van that is almost there but missing a few key things, or a conversion that no longer suits how you travel, we can help. Modifications sit alongside our full and partial conversions.

We source, advise on and fit a wide range of modifications, from simple accessories to more involved changes, and we bring the same care to a single upgrade as we do to a full conversion. We also work alongside owners who are partway through a self-build, or who want to do some of the work themselves and hand over the parts that need specialist attention.

Windows

A panel van is transformed by adding additional glass. We offer a variety of options for aftermarket glass, whether for the mid row (with or without sliding opening window), rear quarter, tailgate or barn doors. We have experience of doing this for VW Transporters, VW ID Buzz, Kia PV5, and Ford Transit Custom amongst others.

Vanshades Window Pod Blinds

While we can fit curtains too, we highly recommend blinds from our trusted supplier, Vanshades. Their window pod system gives a flawless, modern finish, whilst offering blackout and thermal qualities from an easy-to-use concertina blind that’s available in 14 colours. Stylish shade and privacy at the swipe of your hand. If you’re using them with sliding windows, they also offer integrated flyscreens (fully retractable when not needed), brilliant for keeping pesky winged beasts outside where they belong!

Pop tops

We install pop tops from a range of trusted suppliers including Reimo, Austops and Skyline, and will help you choose the make and specification that suits your van and your budget.

Awnings

Wind out awnings from suppliers such as Thule and Fiamma offer additional shelter from sun and rain. They are quickly and easily erected and stowed away again so whether camping or day tripping, you’ll soon have valuable extra space for cooking and seating.

Vanshades chair pods

Another Vanshades product worth knowing about. A pair of folding camping chairs stow away neatly in the tailgate space — a clever use of an area that is usually wasted

Seat and bed systems

From RIB and Reimo through to genuine VW California specification parts, we offer both fixed and sliding rail seat/bed options. Choosing your seat/bed option is one of the most important decisions you will make. It all depends on how you plan to use your van. We’ll ask you questions and suggest the best options to help you make the right decision.

Heating, electrics and off-grid power

Whether you need a heater fitted, a solar panel system added, or a full 12V and 240V electrical upgrade, we can design and install a system that suits how you actually use your van — from weekend trips to extended off-grid travel.

Exterior modifications

Spoilers, splitters, sill protection bars, grilles, trims, wheels — if you want the outside of your van to reflect the care that has gone into the inside, we can help with that too.

Improving a conversion that is not working for you

Sometimes a van has already been converted, but the layout is awkward, the storage is impractical, or it just does not feel right to live in. We are used to coming into a part-finished or poorly-thought-out conversion and working out what needs to change. It is often less work than people expect to make a significant difference.

If you are not sure what is wrong but know something is not right, get in touch. A conversation about how you use the van is usually enough to identify where the problems are.
