A sunny and stylish VW Transporter
Our customers approached us to find a van which could be built into a top spec camper.
They wanted the base vehicle to be fully loaded with DSG gearbox, 4Motion four- wheel drive and a high level of trim inside. They took the decision with our help and knowledge to order a brand-new van with all the features needed, a big decision but one they could make with confidence. They were also keen to have the van in a striking colour and chose yellow.
The inside was just as important to them as the exterior and under the bonnet. We started the process of providing samples for the leather seats, cupboards and flooring. What they came up with was both bold but incredibly warm and luxurious. The seats were trimmed in rich brown leather with additional padding and stitching on the front and rear seats. They chose the genuine VW California sliding seat and rail system, which is so popular with so many of our customers over the years due to its huge flexibility (the seat/bed can slide forwards and backwards to give more or less space to your passenger compartment and boot as needed. Combined with our own bed extension frame this offers a great deal of practicality. Our customer also specified a pull-out drawer in the boot area so we adapted our bed extension frame to take a removable drawer which filled the whole load area.
The cupboards specified were our full height furniture option, designed and manufactured completely in house by Luke Martin Coachworks, which offers all of the practicality of the higher end furniture but with the bonus of quicker production times making them more economical.
The colours chosen were Natural Bardolino Oak for the outer case and worktops, and Agave Green for the accent colour on the centre and decorative panels. This again added to the luxurious feel of the van as well as adding a warm, bright and calming colour scheme.
This conversion benefitted from the Clayton Power LPS11 lithium power pack with solar panels on top of a Reimo VTEC pop top roof and hidden hook up in the badge on the grille of the van. This set up allows for off grid camping and can power an induction hob, top loading fridge and anything else you can throw at it!
A beautiful and bold conversion that provides luxurious comfort and convenience on the road.
